Student Cross is a pilgrimage organised by and for students, young adults, and pilgrims of all ages, which has been running since 1948. Pilgrims experience Holy Week and the joy of the Resurrection as a living reality. It's a chance to celebrate Easter in a unique way.
The "Essex Leg" of this, Britain's longest established annual pilgrimage, has for some years called at Great Oakley Village Hall to be welcomed to a brief rest for aching limbs and blisters, a few refreshments and the odd prayer on the first day of their 120 mile walk leading eventually to Walsingham.
Have a look at their website and consider joining the pilgrimage or join other villagers in welcoming the walkers when they briefly drop in on Saturday afternoon at the beginning of Holy Week.
