Workers Educational Association
The W.E.A. has many experienced speakers who are able to talk on so many subjects that there is always something to suit most people. At Great Oakley we run two series of ten lectures each year , the Spring Term starting in January and the Autumn Term starting in September. Each series is held at the Village Hall on a Monday evening.
For the Spring Term 2009, we had Fred Boot speaking about "Coastal Ecology and Conservation", with special reference to our local area. The course ended with a field trip to Abbotts Farm Nature Reserve.
Spring Term 2010 starts on Monday January 11th when Graham Slimming will be giving the first of ten weekly lectures entitled Art in the age of William Morris. The course takes place in Great Oakley Village Hall from 7.30p.m. to 9.00p.m.
